Silence was an act of true politeness and it was regard full of the rule that you should think before you speak.
You should always think before you speak. There can be moments when you just want to blurt something out but those words might be hurtful to another. It's best to think about what you're going to say and choose your words wisely. Words carry great power, they can build nations but they can also make cuts. Silence is a gift because it allows us to focus on our thoughts and words. Silence should be used to our advantage, not as our downfall.
